1. In japan, they have 10 consecutive holidays. This is unusual situation.
Why? It's because it will be held that the ceremony that change our emperor on May 1st. It is also unusual that the way to change. I write the reason to 4 paragraph.
2. We call Japanese emperor, Ten-nou: Kanji-天皇, Hiragana-てんのう, Katakana-テンノウ. We Japanese people truly think him of god until the end of WW2, 1945. Their lineage has been the emperor's bloodline about 2000 years and is a unique being and don't have familyname because absolutely no one other than their family will be the emperor. That's why they don't need familyname.
3. In Japan, each emperors have unique name. It related to era. I show you this pic as example.
In Japan, when emperor has died or natural disasters have happend, we have changed era name. We call that era name, "Gengo". You can know the rule if you see this pic. Emperor Meiji - he actually has real name but he is called "Meiji ten-nou" after he enthroned - lived in 1868-1912, after he died his son enthroned and changed Gengo. However, we must call the emperor of that era, "Kinjo ten-nou". We are allowed to call him "Gengo + ten-nou" after he died. It is repeated about 2000 years. By the way, Meiji and Keio universities that are famous uni in Japan are named from Gengo. By the Gengo, I was born in Heisei 10 years - it's in 1998 - .

4. So why the change is unsual. It's because Kinjo Ten-nou -current emperor- has not died yet. He chose to retire during alive. It's 202 years since the last and pretty rare. The mass media, TV news and magazine and so on... every information media reported it when he told nation that he wanted to retire during alive. I was so surprised and excited because it was rarely event but felt sad a little bit because I love current emperor and empress. Their smile always makes me happy and peace. I regret that I can't see the ceremony they retire in Japan but I can watch it with live stream on YouTube so I'm looking for it now. ohhh I have to wake up at 3:30 am...
↓Just my think.
